Define: Erin (Noun)

1: Sophomore

Background: This was probably the hardest year of my entire life. I was dealing with a huge emotional crisis for the majority of the year, and I really think that it was reflected in my writing, as the darkness really came through in a couple of pieces, especially in my essays about the scarlet letter.

I decided to publish three pieces:

  1. The Role of Women in Society:  Discussed how the works of female authors such as Kate Chopin, Sarah Jewett, and Willa Cather portray a constriction of the feminine role in a male dominated society.
  2. The Salem Witchcraft Trials: Explored how the Salem witchcraft trials were different from other witchcraft trials of that era.
  3. The Scarlett Letter (Foreshadowing): Explains how the first chapter of the novel sets the gloomy and miserable tone of the era, and foreshadows upcoming events.

Enjoy!
